FAQs

What are the benefits of a yoga practice?

Some of the benefits of a regular yoga practice include stress reduction, increased flexibility, and improved balance. Yoga supports aging gracefully by helping to build strength while improving social connection with Sunseed’s supportive community of practitioners.

What types of yoga classes does Sunseed offer?

We offer a variety of classes including Hatha, Yin, and Iyengar yoga. There are classes for different skills and interests. Check out our class offerings.

What makes Iyengar yoga different from other yoga styles?

Iyengar yoga is a version of Hatha yoga. Iyengar practice focuses on precision and correct alignment of the body while holding an asana (pose). Props are used to ensure alignment if the student doesn’t have the strength or physical ability to hold the precise posture.  Asanas are held for longer periods to help practitioners build body awareness and strength.

I’ve never tried yoga. Which class should I take?

Take a look at our class descriptions. If you’re still not sure, contact us and we’ll get in touch to discuss which class is the best fit for your experience and skills.

Do I need to register or can I just drop in?

If you are new to Sunseed, you are welcome to drop in to any class except for those marked Pre-Registration Required or Private Instruction.  Pre-registered courses are more strenuous and we want to ensure you’re at the best class for you.
